Baby delivery
Childbirth is the process of leaving the baby, who is gonna born, from the uterus (womb).
Type of birth of a baby to be experienced by you is your personal decision. The experience of labour and birth is different for every woman. It is not possible for anyone to predict what your labour will be like, or how long it will last.
But it is very important to prepare yourself and, understanding what happens to your body and your baby during labour.
Stages of labour
Labour moves forward in three clear stages. they are:
First stage: Here the cervix is gradually open up due to contractions, which is the neck of the womb (uterus). The first stage consists three phase- early labour, active labour and the transitional phase.
Second stage: This stage starts when you push your baby out into the world.
Third stage: It is when you deliver the placenta.
There is also a phase called , or the latent phase, which starts when the body gears up for the first stage of labour.
Types of baby delivery
There are many options for childbirth you can choose, by discussing with your pregnancy care provider. Examples of types of delivery are Vaginal delivery, C-section, VBAC and assisted vaginal delivery.
Methods used for delivery:
It’s very difficult to know what will happen during delivery. But when it comes to delivering the baby, there are various methods pregnancy care providers can used.
Types of delivery include:
Vaginal delivery: It is the safest and most common type of childbirth. In vaginal delivery, baby is born through the vagina.
Assisted vaginal delivery (vacuum or forceps):
When your obstetrician uses forceps or a vacuum device to get your baby out of your vagina, then it is called as assisted vaginal delivery.
C-section (Cesarean birth):
In C-section procedure, obstetrician delivers the baby through surgical incisions made in the abdomen and uterus. If a medical reason calls for it, then it might be planned in advanced. It might be unplanned and take place during the labor if certain problems arise.
VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean): Suppose you’ve already had a cesarean birth, then you may be able to have your next baby vaginally. This is called as VBAC, or vaginal birth after cesarean. Since a surgical cut from the previous C-section results in a scar on the uterus, the concern is that the pressure of labor in a vaginal delivery could cause the uterus to open (rupture). For this reason, to attempt a vaginal birth after C-section, certain criteria must be met in order for your obstetrician.
